Bally Chohan comments on Cyber Crimes

Bally Chohan says that the cyber criminals are working in more organized way than ever before. Cyber criminals like virus writers used to write viruses just for fun at one point of time. But now they are working in a more organized way. Virus writes have started trading their services these days.
Bally Chohan has come across different trends the way malware is being distributed these days. There was a time when people used to develop viruses just for more but now that is not the case, they have become more organized. Also there used to be cyber criminals who used to develop malware just for making some money. However they have started to operate in groups now. This has taken the shape of an industry now.
Bally Chohan says that the web attacks are planned in a more organized way by group of cyber criminals these days. These groups offer different cyber criminal services. The motive of these groups is to just make money. They are ready to do all sorts of cyber crimes for financial gains. If you pay them what they want they can do anything for you, right from virus writing to hacking bank accounts. The work in a chain and you will find different groups working in this chain. This has put an extra pressure on security systems.
Bally Chohan says that in recent days he has witnessed some politically motivated cyber crimes also. These attacks are not just done for financial gains but for gaining some political benefits. The companies involved in building antivirus and other security systems are working on innovative ways to counter these attacks. These companies have started to look beyond traditional methods like virus databases and heuristic scanning. Kaspersky for example has come up with application control technology, whereby helping its clients to restrict unwanted applications. Kaspersky also has a database of all infected URL’s which they keep on updating on regular basis. Moreover in addition to infected websites, Kaspersky also maintains database of safe to surf websites. Kaspersky is planning to incorporate all these features into its corporate security solution. These additional features help Kaspersky in protecting its clients from any cyber attack.
Bally Chohan has often met some of its clients with a worry that the increased security on their system will result into degradation of its performance. To counter t his Kaspersky has come up with new features which scans only updates on the previously installed application and not the application every time. Kaspersky is also planning to introduce new search engine in near future that will consume less memory.
Bally Chohan says that the cyber criminals don’t attack MP3 players because of lack of financial motivation there. However he has witnessed more and more attacks on mobile platforms. Attacks on mobile phone are much easier whereby a mobile phone owner receives a SMS indicating some financial benefits. However these types of attacks i.e. attack on mobile commerce services are very rare.
